The other day, during a short break from work, I took a walk to Beppu Park.
The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and many people had gathered to enjoy what felt like the last opportunity of the season to admire them. The park was filled with a lively yet gentle atmosphere that truly represents springtime in Beppu.
Beppu Park is one of the city’s most well-known parks, located in the heart of the city yet blessed with expansive grounds and abundant greenery.
In spring, cherry blossoms and seasonal flowers bloom throughout the park, making it a pleasant place to take a relaxed stroll amid calm surroundings.
It is also a popular stop during sightseeing, where locals and visitors naturally mingle, creating a pace of time that feels uniquely Beppu.
From Kappo Ryokan Yumesaki, Beppu Park is about a 20-minute walk one way.
While it may be a bit far for a morning walk, it makes for an ideal course if you check in early and take a leisurely stroll before dinner.
As you wander through the park, enjoying the cherry blossoms and views of the town, you may find your appetite pleasantly growing.
It is a great way to get some light exercise before soaking in the hot springs, or simply to work up an appetite so you can enjoy your dinner even more.
